Christmas Program

The kids worked very hard to prepare their Christmas Program this year for their parents. Thanks to everyone who came and supported the kids, what a great turnout! The 3 year olds started the program off by reciting John 3:16 followed by "Wonderful Counselor" performed by everyone. Then, the 4 year olds recited a poem about the m&m...if you turn it you will see the M becomes a W, a 3 and then an E (the poem went on to talk about how each letter/number represents part of the Christmas Story. Finally, they sang "Jingle Bells" while they jingled their bells. At the end we all sat down and watched a video of the children answering simple questions about their thoughts on Christmas (priceless :)

Christmas Party / Red Day!!!

Today was our Christmas Party! We celebrated many birthdays today including Nathan, Liam, Kailee and of course Jesus! It was also Red Day today, so we all came wearing red :) After lots of goodies, games and art fun, we got to take home a gift! Thanks to a generous donation from World Vision, each child took home either a book or a game! The teachers were also spoiled by children who came bearing gifts. Thanks kiddos!

Guest Speaker - Pastor Chris!!!

Today Pastor Chris visited for Chapel and threw a party! His lesson was based on the Bible story of The Lost Sheep. He used a poster with pictures of his family members to demonstrate how happy a shepherd is to find his lost sheep. One person was missing from his poster and he was very sad. The kids help him search around the room to find the missing picture, and when they found it, Pastor Chris led them in a celebration! They danced around with music and Pastor Chris gave out treats (he likes to do that :) He talked about how there is also a party in heaven whenever someone becomes part of God's family. They ended with a song and prayer. They had lots of fun with Pastor Chris and can't wait for him to visit again!

The 2009 - 2010 YEARBOOK!!

We had a FANTASTIC year and some of the best highlights are showcased in our Yearbook! Just take a look at what our 4's class accomplished! This Yearbook was made available for purchase as a keepsake. Yearbooks were printed after the graduation ceremony so the whole year could be included. Books were distributed approximately 2 weeks after school let out. Much thanks to Katie, Jena and Cathy for making this first year an amazing experience for these students!

This is a hardcover, 8x8 "digital scrapbook" with spine printing purchased from Artscow.com. I apologize for "shine" from my camera's flash and the variance in coloring as a result. My floor is all ONE color (upper right!) LOL!

Please hit the "x" on the right side of the Super Poke game banner below so you can see the captions under the pictures! =)

Here are the covers and pages within the book. =)

Beach Field Trip!!

Both the 3's and the 4's classes met at Owen's Beach today! It didn't matter that it was overcast and a little cool. The kids had a great time and many ventured into the water anyway! The big discovery was a jellyfish that Miss Jena held with a small shovel for all to see. After a picnic lunch some met over by the play area and continued the fun!

Please close the "x" on the banner below, then hover your mouse over the lower portion of the picture to see the captions. =)

It's Orange Day!

Ok, everybody wear ORANGE!! We had a fun, goopy project today! Miss Jena mixed flour and water to make a dough that acted like glue! Some got their hands right in it and some didn't want to touch it! =) Everyone had fun sticking little items and bits of paper into the dough.

Easter Fun

We celebrated Easter a little early since we are on spring break next week. Our big activity today was to color Easter eggs. While the 3-year old class was so careful to keep the eggs in just one container, the 4's enjoyed plopping them in MANY different colors to see what would happen! Then several students brought in items for our Bunny salad bar which was a big hit with both classes! This will tie in with our "Eating Healthy" unit after break! Thanks to all parents that contributed to our Bunny salad bar!! Here are some pics from the day:

St. Patrick's Day FUN

We all did such a great job of wearing lots of GREEN for St. Patrick's day! And if anyone forgot there was plenty of green paint and sparkles for arts and crafts! =) Hayley was our snack helper today and she brought a special treat of cookies with green frosting and shamrock sprinkles along with juice and bananas. The weather has been so nice and we enjoyed playing outside and blowing bubbles. Check out our St. Patrick's Day fun!

Music Lesson

Today we had another guest speaker! Mr. Kelsey (Kaitlyn's Dad) came in to teach about musical instruments. He is the band director at Columbia Jr. High in Fife and happened to be on break. He showed the preschoolers several kinds of rhythm instruments and let them all try each one. Then he had them do some clapping ryhthyms before passing out all the instruments for a grande finale performance of Jesus Loves Me. Mr. Kelsey played keyboards and the students played along while singing. They did a great job and enjoyed seeing some new and different instruments!

Here is a page that just might make the final selection for the preschool yearbook! =)

Celebrating Valentine's Day early

Since Valentine's is on Sunday the preschoolers are having their party today. Everything was decked out in hearts! They glued glitter onto purple hearts and ate heart shaped sandwiches for snack. They had Valentine's Day bags all decorated and ready to go and did such a good job of waiting for their turn to pass out their goodies to their friends. Just look at what fun we had today!
